St. Paul Basketball 2025

The St. Paul Basketball League offers your child the opportunity to work on basketball fundamentals as they enhance their skills and learn to be part of a team. Our goals are to foster teamwork, promote an active lifestyle, and instill sportsmanship through play. This is a learning league and is not designed for kids playing in multiple leagues, travel teams, or school teams.
Check back here or like and follow the St. Paul UMC and St. Paul Rec Facebook pages for the most up-to-date info on the season.

“Hi, I am Fede Apecena. I am originally from Argentina, where I began my career journey as a lawyer. Life took a beautiful turn when I followed my heart to Duke University to pursue a Master of Divinity degree. After that, I had the incredible opportunity to serve as a missionary on the triple border of Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil, South America, for three unforgettable years as the Developer for Missions in the border areas and as a Chaplain. I have served in the North Georgia Conference since 2018, and part of my ministry work now is as Pastor for Hispanic-Latino Ministries at Hapeville First UMC and Chair of the Hispanic-Latino Committee. Those experiences have shaped me in profound ways. I am also blessed to be the father of three amazing children, and I get to share this wonderful journey with my love, Sandra, who brings so much joy into our lives.
I am excited about working as the Director of Basketball Ministries because this sport runs in my blood—my entire family played basketball, my son plays wheelchair basketball, and we watch a lot of it. In the words of Dani Rojas: “Basketball is life! (sort off)”
I believe that sports are life-giving and great for building a team mentality, setting us up to show that not only are we not alone, but we achieve greatness through the need for others and others’ need for us.
I can’t wait for the 2025 basketball season with the St. Paul community and neighbors.”
